Woman Dances All Night Long With Airport Strangers After Missing A Flight And Getting Stranded

I’ve missed a flight before, and I didn’t consider it a joyful experience. Instead, I was cranky and irritable, stewing in my annoyance as I waited several hours for the airline to squeeze me onto the next available flight. If I had to guess, I would say that most people have had similar reactions to being stranded in the airport overnight.

But Mahshid Mazooji isn’t “most people.”

Mahshid was traveling and missed a connecting flight in North Carolina’s Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Rather than sit around, angry about the inconvenience, she decided to make the most of her time.

For Mahshid, this meant organizing an impromptu dance party with airport workers and fellow passengers who were also in the airport overnight.

The friendly traveler shot footage of herself dancing with total strangers and organized it into a music video, set to Lionel Richie’s 1983 hit song “All Night Long (All Night).” She posted the video to YouTube, where it quickly went viral with over 2 million views at last count.

“I missed my connecting flight in Charlotte, and I didn’t want to sit in anger all night long, so instead I did what makes me happiest…DANCE!!!! Oh, and I made some really great friends along the way! Thank you for dancing your troubles away with me!!!” Mahshid captioned the fun video.

Even Lionel Richie himself caught wind of the video, sharing it on his official Facebook page. “HAHA! Seems like a really fun use of downtime at the airport… That moonwalk though, wow!” the singer wrote.
