Mom gets stuck under a tractor in farming accident. Then 4-year-old daughter saves her life

A 4-year-old child is being dubbed a hero by local authorities who responded to her call on Tuesday afternoon.

Her 35-year-old mother had been caught in a tragic farming accident and was pinned to the ground underneath a utility vehicle.

She had been riding the caged utility vehicle which is similar to a large quad bike along with her private driveway in regional New South Wales. She drove down a steep slope and lost control of the vehicle before rolling down the hill several times before coming to a stop 100 meters from the road.

The girl saw the whole event unfold and ran as fast as she could to be by her mother’s side and help her. In total it is believed she ran up to 700 meters to save her mother’s life. Along the way she fell and grazed her face, but got back up and continued to run towards her.

“The heroic child then [climbed] down the embankment to her mother before returning back to the residence, some 800 meters, to ring 000 and provide emergency services with life-saving information,” local police reported.

Emergency services and a rescue helicopter were promptly called to the property.

The rescue team and emergency services personnel were able to free the woman who had been trapped for several hours.

She was then airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle in a serious but stable condition. It was found that she had suffered a fracture in her leg and several serious cuts.

The young girl was cared for by relatives while the mother recovered and the father returned from the interstate.

The young girl is now being cared for by relatives while her father returns from the interstate.

“Police believe without the efforts of this young girl the circumstances may have been tragic,” the police said.

“Officers from Manning Great Lakes Local Area Command will formally acknowledge the child’s quick thinking and life-saving actions.
